Dormammu is the primordial Ruler of the Dark Dimension, the Lord of Chaos, and a being of immense mystical power. He is a being of infinite power and endless hunger. He uses his vast powers to conquer other universes and dimensions, earning himself the archenemy of Doctor Strange in the process.

History[]

He has encountered Doctor Strange many times during the latter's adventures as the Sorcerer Supreme.

Season 3: Web-Warriors[]

Cloak and Dagger[]

Dormammu gains control over Cloak so that he can capture Doctor Strange, Iron Fist, and White Tiger as part of a plot to power the Siege Perilous and lead the Mindless Ones into invading Earth. He takes control of the three but Spider-Man along with Dagger (who have managed to enter the Dark Dimension with the Cloak of Levitation and the Eye of Agamotto) are able to free Cloak, White Tiger and Iron Fist. Doctor Strange announces Dormammu's arrival and the demon appears before them making Spider-Man realize that they are no match for him. Dormammu becomes angry of his will being broken over the young heroes but pleasingly reveals that to him, it matters not and that they have no more use because he now possesses the Siege Perilous. He reveals that mere magic cannot send his army into other dimensions but the Siege Perilous is without limits. He demonstrates its power by disappearing and appearing behind the young heroes. He taunts that Spider-Man will burn with his friends. Dormammu along with Doctor Strange combine their powers to knock the young heroes away. Spider-Man reveals that if they are to escape, they'd need Doctor Strange back. White Tiger and Iron Fist tell him to go while they distract him. Iron Fist dodges Dormammu's fire before punching him but this has no effect on the demon. White Tiger scratches his leg but it has no effect on him either. Dormammu reveals that their abilities maybe impressive in their realm but in the Dark Dimension, they are nothing. He tries to burn them but they avoid it. However, this gives Spider-Man, Cloak and Dagger time to free Doctor Strange. Doctor Strange then uses the Eye of Agamotto to hurt Dormammu and it also causes an earthquake in the process. Spider-Man steals the Siege Perilous from Dormammu and the heroes escape the collapsing tower. Unfortunately, Dormammu gives chase to prevent them from escaping. He jumps to crush the heroes but Doctor Strange shields them. He then tries using his powers to destroy the shield. Spider-Man asks if the Siege Perilous can work before Doctor Strange reveals that it can't with Dormammu's power and that all the gateways between the Dark Dimension and their realm have been sealed shut. Cloak reveals that the only doorway that is not shut is the one inside him. White Tiger points out about how that can stop Dormammu from following them back and invading Earth. Cloak tries to persuade them to go before Doctor Strange reveals that he will seal Cloak up after he rejoins them back on Earth. Dormammu's powers succeed in breaking the shield but the heroes escape the Dark Dimension. Before Cloak can rejoin them, Dormammu grabs him and Cloak is trapped between the two realms. Dormammu uses this advantage to enter Earth's realm and he encounters the heroes again. He boasts that there is no escape from him before Spider-Man and Doctor Strange use magic to knock Dormammu back into the Dark Dimension before sealing Cloak up thus preventing Dormammu from invading Earth.

Season 4: Ultimate Spider-Man vs The Sinister 6[]

Strange Little Halloween[]

Dormammu was seen as an illusion to fight Spider-Man, Doctor Strange and Ant-Man during Baron Mordo’s attack on Halloween.

The Moon Knight Before Christmas[]

Dormammu is seen in a flashback when Spider-Man's old enemy, Quentin Beck (who was the original Mysterio) reveals that he made a deal with the demon to make his illusions become real. However, the cost was that Beck would be trapped in the very helmet he wore.

Powers and Abilities[]

  • Primordial Entity Physiology: As a cosmic primordial entity Dormammu’s power is almost infinite. He well beyond the power of any mystic entity. He is a being of infinite power and endless hunger.
  • Nigh-Omnipotence: Dormammu is nigh-omnipotent as the absolute ruler of the dark dimension. In other dimensions Dormammu’s cosmic powers still make him all-powerful

    • Nigh-Invulnerability: He is immune to physical harm caused by forces from non-supernatural realms.
    • Cellular Regeneration: His body has healed damages done to it instantly. The damaged area that is being healed takes the form of electricity.
    • Immortality: He cannot die as long as he is in his realm or has a connection to it. He is a primordial being who has lived for well beyond many millennia.

Weaknesses[]

  • Supernatural Forces: As a supernatural being, he is immune to any Earth based or Alien based harm. However supernatural forces such as Iron Fist's Chi-Powers, Doctor Strange's Sorcery based powers are able to break through his invulnerability & harm him. Despite him having a "healing factor" which heals him instantly, such injuries takes a long time to heal. Even when Spider-Man was powered by "The Eye of Agamotto", he was able to harm him.
  • God: As the creator of everything & even Dormammu himself, God can easily permanently destroy him even if Dormammu is in his realm.
  • Immortality Limitations: Should he ever be cut off from his realm, he may be extremely difficult to kill, but he is no longer un-killable.
  • Power Limitations: He cannot affect other dimensions, without a mystical artifact.
